Can we have a legacy section please?
For S2 & S3??

I've never done a legacy challenge before but it would be something cool the get the forum into! I'm curious what everyone else thinks

Would the section be for legacy contests? Or just posting about your own legacies?

I've never done a true legacy. I use cheats all the time and I'm pretty sure they're not allowed in the Legacy challenge. Plus, I don't think I've passed the 3rd generation on TS2 or TS3 due to having to restart because of computer problems or issues with the game. But having a forum to show off non-model sims and their families would be fun.

Maybe a little bit of both?

That site doesn't mention any Sims 3 rules. And with TS3, a lot of the stuff would be different. Just reading the basic rules and scoring I see lots that won't be applicable. Like the lot sizes aren't the same, and funds aren't the same. There are no aspirations, so that's out. There's no platinum graves, due to the lack of platinum aspiration. No aliens, no shrink, no career reward objects, and there's very few ghost colors due to the fewer ways to die in the game.

Obviously it won't mention TS3 since it was made before TS3 came out and I doubt they'll update it. I'm sure with some time you can figure out the rules, seeing as people on legacychallenge at livejournal are doing Sims 3 legacies.

Well, as far as legacy contests, we do have a section for that! That's what the Non-Beauty contest section is for, which is why we renamed it so that contests dealing with legacy challenges or decorating challenges or etc. really have a place of their own.

As far as just posting pictures of your legacies, that would really just go in the "your sims pictures" section, but maybe we can toss around the idea of creating a legacy forum. The only thing we're worried about right now is minimizing the amount of sub forums on the site, and even though we've cut down on a few there are still just sooo many.

Would we really need a legacy sub-forum, or would a thread (even a pinned one) be good enough? I don't really do legacy challenges, so I am curious.

What Vintage said.. but also.. I would love to see legacy stuff here! I have never done a challenge myself, but I love reading what other people do in the community. I think they are so fun to watch and read about

Yeah Ive never done a legacy either I'd be curious to try it out. Maybe not create subforums for it yet unless it became that popular here eventually that we would have to?

It seems someone at the Sims 3 website forum came up with some new rules. I read through and I think they're pretty good!

I already started a Legacy before reading this, so I've broken a few rules, haha. But I think as long as you disclose which rules were "broken" ahead of time, the Legacy should still be valid for SCF fun!
