Kudos to this chapter for the use of the rarely seen "Triple Date" tactic.
Indeed!
Though we won't really get to see how it plays out until next chapter, it seems.
Anywho, it's been a while since I've said posted anything here about Takahashi's other series besides Kyokai no Rinne. So, ya, there's some small developments as far as those upcoming Rumic World OVAs are concerned. To see more, head on over to my dA Journal: [link]
Well, after this recent three chapter story, I'd say there's been a bit of a major development between Rokudo-kun and Sakura-chan. Knowing Rumiko Takahashi, I predicted this would end up happening eventually, even though it seemed unlikely at first due to the way these characters seemed to interact with one another. Yet, at the same time, despite that, this development still doesn't really seem very unnatural, I suppose.

Well! I'm behind on Rinne, again. X_X I fail at life.
Oh! But my Takahashi-failure is limited, since I just bought all of Ranma 1/2! :3 So that counts for something... right?
Manga or anime?
And I too am behind on Rinne. Even on what's been posted here. I should probably try changing that...

Like DP inquired, I am also curious as to whether you mean the superior manga or the alright but crappy by comparison anime (it's only my opinion, but I never thought the anime was quite as good after the first season, but the manga is always 100% awesome no matter what point you're at).
Anywho, I finally got caught up with KnR, myself. Phew! That was quite a bit I needed to catch up on, too! Oh, speaking of KnR, I ran across a Japanese commercial for Shonen Sunday featuring KnR, so it's also advertising the release of the first two graphic novels... great, they get two at once, we only get the first one.
Anywho, it's notable due to the fact that it has an animated KnR segment. This kinda gives us an idea of what a KnR anime would look like (though that obviously wouldn't be happening for a few years from now, unless you want a crapton of filler).
Also, some interesting references to Urusei Yatsura have been spotted in Sgt. Frog (Keroro Gunsou).

Just to add on to your "references", I found this while watching Genshiken 2

Pretty cool! And you've reminded me that a character in Otaku no Video cosplayed as Lum in one scene.
And, of course, there's also the final episode of Lucky Star, which had the director/creator (not entirely sure of who he is, but I know he's some big creative mind behind Lucky Star) singing the ending credits theme to Urusei Yatsura 2: Beautiful Dreamer. Heck, he even "sang" the school bell ringing at the end!
For those of you that have never seen the 2nd UY movie, here's the credits roll so that you can dare to compare the songs.

Apparently, since October, they've been making new episodes of InuYasha... somewhat of a 'second series' that's basically just finishing up the remaining manga chapters and giving the series a proper conclusion.
A friend emailed me a link where some of it's posted online. Didja know about this Spoony? And if you did, why didn't you tell me!?

I thought I did tell you about it... or at least, I know I mentioned it earlier on in this thread.
But, ya, they've been airing Inu-Yasha Kanketsuhen for a while now.
It's a good way for Sunrise to kill time for a few years until they're ready to make a Kyokai no Rinne anime. Now if only we could get a second UY series and a second Ranma series (in that order, or perhaps simultaneously).
Okay... so, UY did have it's final ending storyline adapted into a movie, but there's still plenty of manga chapters that never got animated. And dang it, January 29th is taking too long to get here!
